"The entire space is very colorful and bright, but it's not overly dramatic," Mulrey noted. "It's very warm and inviting." The hotel's new front desk features theatrical lighting that changes throughout the day and the new bar and lounge area flows into the hotel's new restaurant, Cane Fire Grille, which draws upon Miami's Latin roots.
"The design scheme throughout the lobby blends together with a lot of color and curved woods. It's very stylish. Guests come in and don't know whether to check-in or go have a cocktail," Mulrey explained. "Because it is a large, open space, guests can easily socialize, eat, relax and conduct business. Guests used to go straight to their rooms, but now there is much more energy to this setup and they are responding. We have more people coming out of their rooms to spend time in the lobby and that is exciting." ■
