Leaded glass turns a stairwell window into a work of art.

In addition to windows, Kubli also uses leaded glass to make dramatic statements at the entrances to homes, or on interior doors. “I love working with glass,” she says. "It’s like painting with light, because when you have different types of glass together, you’re working with light and how it’s reflected.”

Leaded glass can be a stunning design element, Kubli says. “It enhances the architecture of the house, and the refraction of light and color is like living in a jewel box.”

It is not a trend that is likely to seem dated 10 years from now. “It’s a proven design element that’s been around since the Middle Ages,” Kubli points out. “Centuries ago, artisans would cut the bottoms out of bottles and use the circles to make windows.” continued
