Eloise wanted to make the home office warm and intimate so she designed
custom maple architectural millwork, paneled walls, crown moldings, and
shutters that introduced the rich look of wood. The wool carpet from Edward
Fields has protea flowers strategically placed to create impact as you enter
and to define the desk area and lounge chairs. This room was once the client's
exercise room and office. The dividing wall and window were removed and a pair
of patio doors were added to capture the lush golf course view. The result is
one large area for getting away for relaxation or to put the finishing touches
to a project. The master bedroom is a romantic and
relaxing retreat featuring Plantation shutters, hardwood floors, and a carpeted
platform that sets the bed at a higher level to take advantage of the golf
course and lake vistas. The upholstered bed and spread are made of tussah silk
with over-scaled tapestry pillows in shades of pale, making this an inviting
room. Perhaps the home's most stunning area is the
dramatic living room, which is generously sized and wonderful for entertaining
large gatherings of friends and family. The polished rose marble flooring laid
on a diagonal with honed matte osso stone insets makes it both interesting and
luxurious. The rose ultrasuede sofa, originally purchased for the client's
first home faces the stone and marble fireplace and custom maple bar, which is
surrounded with neutral antique white leather chairs. This impressive room also
features high ceilings, soaring windows, and French doors that are softened
with continuous swag draperies which frame the outdoor view.
