Iron light fixtures from Fine Art Lamps line the hallway, where “Victory,” a wood sculpture from Stephen Baker Turner, poses on a pedestal custom designed by Kubli. Kast Fabrics’ linen drapery fabric with tasseled fringe from Mario & Marielena covers the floor-to-ceiling windows.
previous Starting in the dining room, Kubli filled the home with sculptural yet comfortable furnishings that are at once sophisticated and relaxed. Here, a mahogany and ebony solid-wood table with marquetry detailing and bronze feet centers chairs with nailhead trim, a running theme throughout the house. An ebony breakfront with silver leaf “sits in a niche like it was born to be there,” Kubli says, while linen draperies custom made for the room’s European rods with copper finials follow the curve of the windows. Brushed crema marfil limestone flooring flows into the living room, where a pair of wing chairs in patent leather and linen add an unexpected contrast. The room holds a French lounge look with a taupe tufted-velvet sofa, bronze cocktail table with gold leaf stenciling and a mirror that rises 108 inches high.continued
